The
question often comes up "why live full time in a motorhome". D.A.,
who lives full time in his motorhome, came up with the
following:
Cost of
owning a house Cost of
owning a motorhome Property taxes - thousands per
year License plates a couple of hundred
per year worst case most states School tax None, zip, nada, zero House insurance - can be high and
does not cover everything (i.e., flood is extra) Much less cost and most things are
covered - less to worry about High heating costs Very low and often no
cost Monthly payments $900 -
$4000/mo. Lower, perhaps even 25%
of house Land and home appreciate in value
(currently this is not true in all areas) but this is
generally true Motorhome decrease in value, but
it saves in many other catagories and I can move it to where I want
to live If a bad storm (hurricane,
tornado, etc) comes you can weather it in your basement or leave
your home Move it to a safer
location Most people live in four rooms of
their house: Most people live in four rooms of
their motorhome: Lots of space to clean and
maintain Much less space to clean and
maintain dbcdbc You pick one place to
live You pick any place to
live One person said it is great to
sleep in his own bed everynight and wake up someplace new every
day
Obviously this is a little bit tongue in cheek, but as you can see their are many benefits to owning and living in a motorhome. While this is great for many people, many others only want the lifestyle on a part time basis and many of the benefits are there for them also. font> |
